If Miami is not your cup of tea, drive North on the Gulf side about 45 minutes to Naples.
They have a lovely waterfront and easy boating.
I spent 3 years in Hawaii and have been back several times.
If you have to stay on Oahu, just do 1-2 days and move on to Maui, Kawaii or both.
If you're going to spend more than 2 days on Oahu, go to the North Shore Turtle Bay Hilton. It's right down the road from where they hold the World Surfing meets at Sunset Beach and Pipeline.
