We're a bit away from boating here in New England but today (March 9th) reached 70 degrees! This year Lake Winnipesaukee was only "iced-in" for a couple weeks this year and it's rapidly melting away. Can't wait! I'd guess another 2-3 weeks and it will be Anchors Away! :D

73 degrees in Long Island NY. Saw on of the little fishing/crabbing/lobstering skiffs out today.

Trip #2 of the season ended like this:

Image

The trim stopped working on the lake, trimmed almost all the way down. Was able to get it out of the water without dragging but the skeg was only about an inch from the ground. I only had rubber mallet and a small multi-tool in the truck with me. With a little determination and the help of my truck's jack handle I was able to remove the pin that holds the two trim cylinders to the out drive so I could lift it up and secure it in place. I've not started checking things yet but I'm hoping it is just a fuse or relay. Hitting the switch seems to produce no clicks or sound at all.

Well it's been plenty warm here for many boat trips, but it's the wind that kills us here in OK. Weather has been 70-80 deg. but the winds are 20-30mph :x

For a thread about Boating Pics, there sure aren't many pictures of boating! Only Dodger 29 and formulax have come through so far.

I haven't been out for a while myself either :(

Since I'm in the North, I'd only be able to supply pictures of a dark interior of a storage building. :( And thats only if I could get access, late April or May will be much better for some of us itching to get our boats out on the water.

Finally got ours wet this past weekend! Didn't do much, other than clean and de-winterize, as the overnight lows got down to 25F.. Heat worked great thought! lol This coming weekend looks to be a winner, at Sunny and in the low 70's... I'll get the top of the arch put back together, and hopefully spend some time out on the water..

Congrats on getting in the water TFD2001. Hopefully we can meet again this summer. We probably won't be out for awhile yet. Just got back from spring break in Florida yesterday.

We'll be spending our first overnight on the boat of the season this Saturday, but our boat will be on blocks and still under shrink wrap. Not kidding actually, it's an 1 1/2 hour drive to get to our boat and we'd like to get the bottom paint done on Saturday, spend Saturday night on the boat, then on Sunday morning remove the shrink warp and start the washing waxing process. Guess I should post a pic or two early next week to keep in line with this thread title. This Saturday and Sunday are the first two back to back decent weather days that we are to have in quite a while.

It is looking like a great weekend for boat prep. I plan to head to the boat to begin cleaning and restocking. :D

Before removing shrink wrap.

Bottom paint applied. Wash and about 1/4 of the waxing completed.

scoping out a new island on the other side of the lake that looks very promising for white sand beaches and an nice protected deep water cove for a group of boats to weekend anchor up together for a camping trip.
