Hey guys, lefty here. Stole an '83 Santara 204 last fall for bargain basement money, winterized it and have been patiently waiting for winter to come and go. So finally signed up for the forum and now I have a whole list of questions for later on. I live in Southeast Michigan(Wyandotte) just five blocks from the Detroit river and after living that close to the river for twenty something years I finally decided it was silly to NOT own a boat. I've never owned a boat, but grew up sailing on Lake Erie with my dad. I'm excited and scared to death about our new adventure. I never realized how much goes into owning a boat and the responsibilities it carries.
. She seems to be a well taken care of boat that saw many years as a charter fisher on Lake Michigan, then about five years as a privately owned boat before coming to rest in my driveway. She's that lovely light brown with a broad dark brown stripe down the side. Fiberglass is in good shape with no soft spots in the floor except the gas tank panel which is easily replaced. The bottom of the engine cover hood thing is rotted but I have plans in my head as to how to remedy that. It has the infamous mercruiser 485, but with all the common problems addressed. Starts and runs fine but was unable to drop in the water before I bought it, so I either stole a really nice boat really cheap or paid WAYYY too much money for an anchor lol.
Glad to be here and you guys can look forward to a thousand questions,
Lefty

Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to pictures of your "new" boat. I like the 80's designs (other than the wood floors).
