It doesn't want to flush. It will go down eventually but after I pump 40 times. It should flush when it is on wet bowl but it just fills. I have to turn it to dry bowl and pump it a lot to get it to go down.

I noticed this same thing happening with mine this summer. I figure it is probably time for a rebuild kit.

Reggie, you may have just been promoted to "Head Mechanic"!   Sorry, I couldn't pass that one up. This is the bad one-liner we always hear on almost every scuba diving boat we've been on.

But seriously, it sounds like either the pump piston or check valves are not sealing, the joker valve isn't closing properly, or (less likely) your vent line is clogged. Jabsco does make an updated version of the handpump that includes a handle that locks down with a quarter turn to the left. If you don't have this type I would recommend doing the upgrade. Its approximately $70. http://www.ceshowroom.com/ProductDetail ... oCIsvw_wcB

You might try running a few toilet bowls of hot water from the faucet through the toilet to soften and loosen any deposits before a pump out. Hope this helps.

I was under the impression that wet was just supposed to fill the bowl from the intake and the dry was for flushing.

Me too. In fact, I have a sticker next to it which says so.
On mine (UK), the waste is discharged to the sea directly, but it won't go unless you turn on the overboard discharge macerator. I assume if there's a waste tank the same applies?
