We've decided to move up and have settled on a 1969 Chris-Craft Commander 47. She's a beauty with a rock solid hull, rebuilt engines 3yrs ago and fully tuned shafts and props. A little dated on the inside, but that's easy to change.
I've really appreciated this forum over the past 5 years and will continue to visit. In any case, until our Vista is sold - I guess I still belong!

The new boat:

The tanks are 350 gallons - so a bit more that the 328's 220 gallons. That said, fuel economy really isn't that different - I get 1.20-1.25 mpg on the 328 (I have fuel flow meters) and reports are that the Commander is expected to achieve around 1 mpg. Of course our speed is going to drop from 27 knots to 9 or 10! It'll be a different pace of life, set auto pilot and sit on the front bow seat with my family and adjust course as needed with the auto pilot remote. I'm okay with that... :D

Good luck, one beautiful yacht. What do you have for main engines?

Awesome old skool boat!
Any interior photos?
Looks similar to the Bertram hull of similar size & vintage?

Hey weather, congrats on the new boat purchase. It would seem like you have now taken care of the typical "Footitis" for a couple of future years anyways. :)

Enjoy the new boat and I'm sure we would all enjoy viewing pics of your progress with interior renovations.

Mike.

Not sure if I'm breaking rules by posting a link to another forum? Seems much easier than re-uploading the pics.

This is a link to some pictures I posted on the Chris Craft Commander forum. The tear down has begun!

Lot's of work needs to be done this winter, and she's a 4 1/2 hour drive away. Can't wait till spring!

Weather- That's a great boat. Some good friends of ours just finished the loop in a '45 Commander. Very solid boat.
We ended up selling our 328 for 45k, so someone will get a really good deal on yours!
Congrats!!
