Well I just paid for the slip. So the 2017 season has officially begun!
The stupid Ground hog said 6 more weeks. :(
That means I won't have an pics to share for some time, so our friends from down under need to step it up.

Here in Minneapolis it's what.......6 weeks if he sees his shadow, or a month and a half if not. The boat comes out of storage about mid April.

A small tornado hit our marina last week. Amazingly, no one was injured, 3 boats sank, about 5 more are taking on water.
Shocking reminder to revisit your insurance policies and tighten everything down on the decks. It's hard to see in the pics, but some of the houseboats in the wreckage are over 90' long. Our dock is about 100' away, and besides a boat sinking, only light damage.

Wow...what a tangled mess. I can't help but wonder where anyone would start cleaning up that mess - the overall instability of the structure and being on the water obviously complicates the matter. Thanks for sharing.

Agreed. Sadly looks like a game of Pick Up Sticks. First one to pull the wrong one out loses? Scary.

I, too, am amazed someone didn't get killed by that.

Craziness! Never pictured a tornado meeting a marina before. Yikes!

Had to run down to Lake Powell over Presidents Day weekend to do a little "work" on the houseboat. Snapped this with my iPhone. Enjoy!

My winter storage facility requires removal on a specific date every year. This year it was this past Saturday, so she's out just in time for 18-24" of snow here in PA!! :shock:

It's 100% gorgeous boating weather here in Southern California, but my raw water pump is in pieces on my work bench and my Bravo 3 is on a couple of saw horses in the garage so I can replace some seals.

I think I timed my maintenance poorly this off-season, but then again...who would think it would rain so much here that I couldn't get any work done much of the winter.

Oh well...April is coming and I should be good to go by then.

So far this year, not touched the water. have done:
Axle bearings and seals, two rear tires.
Re covered sunpad (eliminated the swing up walk through section)
Installed bluetooth receiver
Purchased the lumber, carpet, staples, and carpet adhesive for new bunk rails

We decided to clean the boat up and go for our first 2017 ride this past weekend. After four hours of cleaning, the engine started right up and we headed down the river towards the Chesapeake. About two minutes in to the ride the engine died while at speed. We managed to get back home after stalling 4-5 more times. I spent the next day replacing the fuel pump, regulator, and putting new batteries in. After that... nothing worked. No blower, no pumps, no lights, nothing. Turned out the whole problem was caused by a loose ground at the back of the engine block. At least its running now and I won't have to worry about the fuel pump for a long time!
