Wow, that is a beautiful shine! Any tips / tricks for maintaining that blue gelcoat?

I'm sorry to hear that your season is over. We don't have that issue down here, but have been stuck at the slip for the last couple months due to an engine failure.

I've been doing the same process since I bought the boat in 2011

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10414&p=99752&hilit=waxed#p99745

I used a product called slimy grimy to get rid of the scum line completely (similar to bioKleen). Washed, dried, used some compound and then some oxidation remover / cleaner on the fine scratches from the carpet on the bunk (orange pad with porter cable). Then polished the entire boat with the meguirs polish on a red pad, then waxed with a grey pad, and hand removed the wax.

Looks great! Like you, my season in Minneapolis is over also. The boat goes to storage this Friday.

Pulling out Saturday, boat in east central Illinois. Sunny and 75 is the forecast, low temps in the next 10 days down to 29.... best summer I have had for boating in 23 years as an adult. boating as a kid was easy and all about having fun

So pull out Saturday, unload all the personal stuff, winterize the AC, toilet, and fresh water system.
Take to the mechanic that has serviced this boat since new, have him change the oil/filter, outdrive fluid, pull drive, maintain/check gimble for alignment, and winterize the engine....

Next weekend I will clean, compound and wax the boat then put in storage for a long winter nap.....

Come on April, can't get here soon enough....

I'm always in awe of immaculate freshwater boats. Our season is winding down too. Still doing some mechanical upgrades (shift control, a few other things).

Well it's up & running ok. I'm going to get the 30 year old Quadrajet rebuilt at a local hot rod shop. I've done simple carbs but a QJet is very complex. Last time it was rebuilt was in 2010. I might swap it for a 4bbl Holley in the future.

PS we get up to Canada every year for the Montreal F1 race. Great time if you like racing. The city is one big party that week..

Looks great. What specific brand of wax did you use?
