Hi all,
I have a new 244 Funship that I thoroughly waxed with the best of the best gelcoat/fiberglass waxes. I've used Meguiars Flagship wax & #50 one step cleaner/wax, 3M Marine Fiberglass Restorer & wax & a special gelcoat wax from Classic Motoring. As you can see, I've tried some of the best. The only thing that removed the water spots was the 3M, which by the way, contains rubbing compound.
Yes, I wipe down the boat immediately after pulling it out of the water. I even use Meguiars qwik wipe detailer, which help's "a little." The boat is always trailered & never left in the water overnight. "One would think that giving your boat a complete waxing would help shed these water spots.
Does anyone out there have a solution to my problem? Any suggestions on what to use? I hate using something that contains rubbing compound each time I use the boat. HELP!!
Your help would be "most appreciated."

i cant personally say if Meguiars #47 Hard Water Spot Remover works,
but it sounds good....

Any automotive detailing spritz ought to take care of those spots (the stuff you use in between washes and waxes to keep the car looking nice)

Get Ducky's waterspot removal. comes in a spray bottle with gallon replacement. firm ships fast and is good to work with. product is excellent.

I have a 328 Vista with the Blue hull and have to deal with the hard water spots problem. I tried good quality cleaner waxes and like you had poor results. I decided to give the Meguiars #47 hard water spot remover and I LOVE IT.

It works so well that we bought extra bottles and use it to clean our clear glass shower door at home! You simply spray it on, let it sit for 30 seconds and wipe it off. I like using a small kitchen sized sponge but you can use a terry cloth. Most of the time I'm cleaning while on a tube in the water so it's easy to rinse it off. The only thing I don't like is that the nozzle on the spray pump constantly clogs from the solids. I've found that a safety pin clears it well. Once I rinse and dry the boat, I follow up with Meguiars fleetwax.

I just use some vinegar mixed with water in a spray bottle. Works quite well and cost is almost nil. The idea came from my wife who reminded me that's how you clean things like coffee pots etc. when they get clogged up with mineral deposits.

I,ve been using the vinegar and water for years each time I put the boat on the trailer. My neighbor's sprinklers used to get one side of the boat and it would get those spots off too. Only problem is now whenever someone opens a jar of pickles I get the urge to clean the boat.
