Howdy, I'm the proud new owner of the above mentioned boat and only have one complaint. I often find myself sitting on a knee or standing awkwardly trying to see over the windshield....front of the boat...etc.. The driver's seat is connected to a floor mount and I wonder if there is an extension out there for purchase that would increase the height of the seat by about a foot ???

Don't you have the booster seat where you can slide it back and sit on that? If not perhaps you could call FW and ask them.

I also have the same problem. Is it possilbe to add the flip-up bolster to an existing seat? Or would I have to buy a new seat? Would the new one fit on the same mount that the old one is on now?

I had the same problem on my Sundowner. I just bought a piece of aluminum tubing the right diameter but longer and replaced it.

You don't want to call FW about a new seat...major $

Many people use a throwable to sit on

How did the aluminum extension work out? Is it stable? Also, I don't believe I have a booster...

I found all kinds of good stuff here http://www.fourwinns.net/partbook/2003/ ... 180F-AFS03 but nothing that looks like it will work.

Extension works great. Only problem I had was the original tube was swagged to the base and I had to shim it to make the new one fit tight. You can buy extension tubes and even adjustable tubes for just about any newer boat. My 1988 was an odd ball size so it was easier for me to make it. (and Cheaper)

It would be nice if the seat base was on a hydraulic rise, but when I need to sit higher I just grab a throwable or 'sit' on my knee....................
