Hello all,
Not happy with my factory Lowrance depth guage. Most times it is wrong, reads 8' in 3' or 450' in 5' or usually reads 0'. What could be wrong? Is there any signaficance to the numbers blinking? Couldn't find the answer in the manual.
Thanks.

I don't know about the Lowrance, but the newer Faria gauge allows you to adjust it. Do you have the manual for the Lowrance?

The numbers blinking means it is having trouble obtaining a reading at the transducer. Have you tried adjusting the angle of the transducer?

The only manual I have is a copy of the Four Winns manual that came with the boat. The tranducer is factory mounted thru the hull so I don't know what can be done with it. My boat is a '96 so it has the VDO insturment cluster, the digital depth indicator is mounted in a window in it.

Call Lowrance and speak with their tech guys. They are very customer oriented. I've spoken with them a couple of times in the past weeks relating to my new chartplotter purchase.
