explain what you mean by "system" What boat do you have? What is your current cover "system" ? |

I did know how to state the questions - sorry. What I mean is a support pole\vent. I have a fundship 214 with and custom cover from westland. |

I just use the poles that came with the boat and cover to help drain the rain. |

I use the stock poles on my 268 as well. They work just fine. You can just have a pole made to the same length as the OEM FW pole. Aluminum is what FW uses, but you can make it out of anything, as it is not directly exposed to the elements, under the cockpit cover. |

What do these look like? I bought an 06 (used) and it has the snap-on cover, but I haven't seen any extra poles for helping drain the rain from the cover... |

The poles for my '04 sundowner are 2 piece adjustible ones, as was the one on my '99 boat; one aluminium tube telescopes inside the other. There is a black plastic collar with handscrew on the larger diameter tube, that is used to lock the smaller one in place. Hope that helps. There is also a shorter one piece pole, stainless steel I think, in the engine compartment; that is to keep the engine compartment open. Regards, Graham |
