Guys i have a question. I am about to take delivery next week of my new horizon 180 :) I am quite stoked. Here in california we still have some wet weather and I did buy the fourwinns mooring cover for it. Now that cover only covers the top half of the boat. I want to put a cover on it that will go all the way down to keep the sun off the gelcoat and keep it out of site. can i get a waterproof cover from walmart and put it over the boat once the mooring cover is on? Is anyone doing this currently?

I would remove the cockpit cover if using another cover. IMHO, the two covers in close proximity would only give mold a great place to live. In addition, air flow in and out of the cockpit is critical to prevent mold on the seats, etc.

Here in Florida, mold is a constant battle.

When we bought ours we also got the mooring cover. The dealer gave a little tip that he had done to his cover.
He took it to a sewing shop and had them add the same type of material down the sides which he then ties to the trailer so nothing is visible.
Just thought I would pass that along.

My dad did the same thing when he lived in Texas to protect his boat..

Cheers
