It's a misprint. The 340DA in the link has twin inboard V-Drives, not BIII's. I have not seen a 340DA equipped with seperate throttles and shifters and sterndrives before. I don't think you could even order one that way.

I don't know Cap, the more details link inside the link says the same thing b3's and in the pics it sure looks like the motors are mounted in the engine facing forward, where I believe a V drive the motors would face opposite, right? And I don't think you could have an aft cabin with v drives can you, wouldn't the transmission fall right about there?

I'm pretty sure I seen a repo last year of a Four Winn's 348 had a similar setup, stern drives and separate shifters and throttles... no big deal just curious. :)

It's a shame you are so hung up on this trailer thing. You will undoubtedly be slipping the boat, and
only use a trailer for in and out each season. You are really limiting yourself as far as good boats for
good prices if you think you need a trailer for a 30+ foot boat. Nice luxury to have, but not a deal breaker
IMO.

I am convinced too that I want a trailer to go under our Chap. Arranging the marine haulers and coordinating with the weather is a pain in the butt. Also they seem to charge extra for people that just want haul out and delivery. I figured I could get hauled to my house by the local marina for about $250 each way and when I spoke with them they wanted $600 + 13% tax ($10 a foot for haul out plus $125/hour delivery minimum 2 hours) and they were adamant that they would be dropping a plumb bob from front and rear extremes. WHAT a rip OFF! I found an inland marina that will haul it for $250-300.
Keep in mind that I boat differently than most people...My slip is free because I store in a small creek by my house, and I have 2 acres available for storage. A trailer will allow me to haul when I want for maintenance or storage. There are two suitable ramps one 8 miles and one 4 miles from my house. I do not want a trailer to haul long distances. The boat is oversized and requires a permit so longer hauls I would not risk the attempt.
Now if your boat is staying in and being stored at the same marina all year then I would forego a trailer but that is a very expensive. Somebody told me that they pay $100 a foot for slip and storage at one of the local marina's. This does not include shrinkwrap or winterization.
But to pass up a deal on a boat because it does not have a trailer I would not do...

Trailer . . . all depends on where you live. I woundn't go without a trailer again around these parts. Best money I spent in some time. Fact is, I wouldn't even consider a bigger boat that I couldn't trailer so long as I live here. Its just not the same as having Lake Erie or Lake Michigan to boat on. Not sure how "trailerable" a 318 is but I suspect its a bit more of an ordeal than the 290 which is 31 LOA, 9.5 beam and dry at 9750. But I find trailering the 290 as easy as my FW 260 except for some height restrictions at gas stations and such. Width is never a problem. Overall length of the trailer and truck has me always looking for easy in and outs when we stop. I know I get much better mileage towing with an F250 diesel now than I did with my Expy towing my H260.

BUT, you'll be needing a new truck as well to tow a 318 otherwise you'll be back in that Durango/268 pickle.

I'm with you on that. The 318 will be slipped on Lake Michigan, so the trailer would only be nice to have to bring it home for winter storage and such. Not sure we'd take it out on Monroe or Brookville, although having that ability would be nice. Again not a must have, but when buying used you can get it for practically free!
