True, but slipping this boat, rather than trailering, you would not have as great a need for a genset. My bad.

Texas still in the running then ?

Also nice to know that SeaDek already has a ESP and cockpit template for the 298 Vista. $1100 is not bad for all of it.

I don't know Fire..... a 298 Vista is an excellent choice, but for the slight increase in price you could have a loaded 2005 328 Vista.
This boat seems to have it all, and is very tempting. Good thing it is not in Michigan !

Capn...where is that boat? Looks like a Texas registration sticker on it...

Yep, South Austin Marine in Texas. That is a very good price for a 2005. Less than some 2000 328 I have seen. Beauty ain't she ! :)

Yeah...I just saw her on Yacht World.

We "may" have a pending deal on a local 328 actually. Probably wont know for another 3 or so weeks. We really havent been looking to upgrade anytime soon as we love our 298. My wife and I both want to be in the 35' range of boat, but are in absolutely no hurry at all. Thankfully, I stole my 298 so if a great deal were to present itself (like one may have done) we would consider a move up. With that being said, my boat is being pulled out of the water this weekend to have the bottom done and annual services complete.....just in case our deal does not go through.

I know what you mean. We are happy with our current boat, and don't have to get anything else. But when an opportunity presents itself, it's worth investigating. I also understand the wait for a "pending deal" We have been waiting since January 28th ! and still won't know for about 3 weeks if it will happen. Meanwhile our 282 is being readied for the upcoming season.

I will still say, as I have for years. The 328 Vista is the best cruiser in that size range I have ever seen. Always been my favorite express cruiser since they were first released. They made that boat right.

Good luck to you on your possible deal, and also to Fire in whatever he is looking at this week.

Sounds like three of us are in the same situation. All love our boats, but if we can upgrade, why not?

That 328 is gorgeous, and has been on the market a while. Owner not to willing to move though...I inquired about it last year.

Look at a 298 in TN over the weekend, didn't make the cut. We did realize, however, that the 298/318 will be our next boat. After spending some time on one, and going for a quick ride, that is the perfect next boat for us.

Since this add was right next to yours on Chicago craigslist, you probably have already seen it. $6,401.00 is not bad.

Yup, been in talks with him for a while. Not exactly what we are looking for though. Price is nice though ;).

Go for the 328 - I absolutely love ours. I would however buy a 2000+ so you get the new helm style and full woodwork below. We looked at 298's first but found it was just a tiny bit small overall for a family of 4. Little things like the forward berth being just a touch too small. The 328 is just that little bit larger everywhere with the same great layout of the 298.

I have no idea is this is interesting or not:

Not sure if your craigslist net is cast this far north.
