Cap'n,

Do you know if anyone from Four Winns reads this forum ? There must be a huge quantity of useful ( +/-) information posted here that they could use to improve their products. I get the impression that most owners, myself included, are very loyal to the brand, but would be a lot happier if stupid little things / mistakes / fundamental flaws were engineered out of the product.

Gordon,

Says it all probably; probably no-one from FW reads this forum; sad and a wasted opportunity!

They are aware of this forum. But not a real strong source of input for them.

As far as the slap to the head Monterey comment, I have stated previously why I
did not buy our second Four Winns boat. No further comments needed.

Just thought any FW info that some may not have seen, would be of interest.

I'm sure Gordon was just tugging your chain! I think most people here appreciate your insight and prompt posting of all relevant matters FW or not. I know I do. Thank You!

I too am not a Four Winns owner anymore but continue to "play" here because of the camaraderie I have developed over the last couple of years. I don't belong to 16 different boat forums either so this is my home base to the boating community.

Only one day left until the unveiling of the V305 :!:

Workers Called Back At Cadillac Boat Factory

IPR News Features
Date: 11/02/2010
By Tom Carr

Amid all the bad economic news, a Cadillac boat manufacturer has begun to call back some workers. Four Winns was purchased earlier this year by a venture capital group that wants to dominate the recreational boat business, Rec Boat Holdings. It has increased its workforce in Cadillac to more than 440 people.

At one point this year there were only about 220 workers on the job there, when it was only Four Winns. Now Rec Boat Holdings, the company includes Four Winns, Glastron and Wellcraft boats.

Bringing the Glastron production to Cadillac from Minnesota has been the main driver behind the increase in jobs.

Company President Roch Lambert expects the current level of employment to remain steady for about six months. He'll know if he can hire more people after boat shows begin in January. Lambert hopes two new Four Winns models will spur more expansion.

The manufacturer unveiled one of those, a 30-foot cruiser, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, last week.

Nice. 5 years ago, who would've thought something like the top volume award would go to a dealer in the desert in the Middle East, rather than a dealer in the U.S. where some of the best boating in the world is?
