Washing I can probably figure out with a brush on a pole, but how am I supposed to wax it while it's in the water? Or do I? :oops:

Ive waxed my boats standing on the dock but its always above the waterline...to wax the bottom I do it in the fall and then in the spring with an orbital buffer....When my dad had his boat in Houston he would pull it and clean it up every couple of months.....

I usually just was with an enviromently safe soap that doesnt strip wax. Once about mid season I will wax the top half above the rub rail. Thats all I usually do. The sides and bottom get done when I pull her out for the end of season and before launch.

Borrow a neighbor's dinghy, or check to see if your marina has a work raft (ours does). Bearing in mind your marina might also have it's own crew or policies regarding use of it. Ours is 'flexible' about it.

The freeboard on a boat is a BIG area. Doing it manually and in the sun is a real chore. Just make sure if you use a electric power buffer that you're on a GFCI circuit or one that won't trip and cut off the whole pier. No sense having your wax job end up cutting off someone else's electric (fridge, battery charger, etc). Not to mention avoiding electrocuting yourself!
