Hello from a newbie boater,
I love my H200 and I'm looking to add a Garmin Echo 500 fish finder! I bought the unit, and I'm trying to figure out where to mount the device. I've searched through the forum and saw maybe 1 pic of where the transducer is mounted; but not the actual device.
Help..?

Since i didn't hear back from anyone, I went ahead and installed my Garmin Echo 500 here. The wires are easily accessible from behind the bow seat cushions.

And the transducer went over here, and it works great! Obviously now my strap has to go on the outside

I mounted a similar unit (Garmin 441 S GPS+Sounder) on the section of the dashboard just to the left of the compass, inside the windshield, there is a round flat section there that is perfect for mounting a GPS unit.
This replaced an ancient Humminbird that worked some of the time, it used to lose bottom at planing speeds. The Garmin holds bottom great.

I tried to find room but with the new leather dash, it didn't seem easy for a DIYer. Ideally that would have been great if I could! I looked at ram mounts and after pricing out the mounts, the shipping costs more than the mounts itself to get it to Canada!

There are Canadian RAM dealers. Radioworld, GPS Central...

I use RAM mounts to mount my Garmin 276.

The Fish and Skis used to mount the fish finder outside like you did. Don't know if they still do.

Just saying.

You can also check out GPSCity.ca (Calgary) for all your equipment needs and shipping is minimum. I have RAM Mounts for the Montana 600 GPS & Hand Radio for the ATV, Ram suction cup for the truck and boat.
