What do you guys think about this deal? Is it worth pursuing or should I keep looking. We want something that will allow us to mark our drop in point, play all day, and navigate us back at the end of the day. The sonar is a plus but not needed. I would like to also have as much information as possible so I plan on getting the Garmin Bluechart SD card for my area. However new to boating, I thought you guys could tell me if this seems like a deal to stay away from. He does have several other units as well, or perhaps you could recommend something better suited for my needs.

The difference in price is the "s" after the 430. The cheaper unit does not have the sounder.

The new version has a faster processor and higher screen resolution. I am looking at the same unit and the 5 series ( 4 is for four inch display 5 for five inch).

I want the transducer option as I am constantly checking the depth and ma depth gauge is not in a good location currently. I have been searching for months but rarely find them on much of a discount.

Where are you mounting it? I have yet to find a good spot. Your boat is newer and you might have that cup holder in the helm

Well I don't have the cupholder in my helm. I was going to mount it off to the right of the instrument panel. Still haven't committed to buying one. My bimini is a p.o.s. and constantly breaks, so now I am thinking of getting a wakeboard tower, so that will more than kill what I have set aside for the garmin.
