I currently have the LED drain plug light on my 268... dont have any pics of that, but here is one of the drain plug light on my old H200... Put out a TON of light, but you have to get the good one, theres a company out there that sells them for $60-$70... The real ones are $150+

When that boat would come on plane, and it was higher out of the water, the blue light would made a 20' radius around the back of the boat and up the sides a little. Highly recommend that light.

One thing I really like about the drain plug light is that it has that optical lense which refracts the light instead of just shooting it in a straight direction aft. It makes the water glow around the boat instead of seaming like theres spot lights shooting out of the back of it like you get with the thru-hull puck lights.

I had also installed blue LED strip lights on a dimmer. There was a total of 6, 1 hidden under each side of the dash, 1 hidden in each gunwale storage pocket, and 1 hidden under each rear jump seat. The 268 just has a total of 2 strip lights, 1 hidden in the top of the recessed cooler area and 1 hidden under the rear transom bench seat.

What company did you get the "good one" from?

The one I bought is the 6 LED "Liquid Lite". Theyre super bright, durable, and install in less than 10 minutes without drilling holes.

Read all of these posts about the drain plug lights, and you've got me convinced to add one to my 260. It came with the underwater swimstep leds, but they just aren't very bright. What do you think about adding the drain plug light to go with them? Also, I found the might max light from boatlightsus for $99 or make offer on Ebay sold by same company. The liquid light drain plug is twice that. Tell me your thoughts before I pull the (drain) plug......

Scotchwater - I also have the liquid lite works great! If you go to Amazon they have the blue and green ones for $113.00 new. They also have the white lite (which is the one we have) it's a little more at $255.51. We tried the blue light it was nice but we prefer the white light you can see more and the kids like it because they can see all the fish.

Steve, I saw that one on Amazon, along with a disclaimer made by liquid lights that they have a lawsuit against that company for impersonating them and selling an inferior light that rusts and has problems. It says theirs comes in a plain white box and is not made by them. All in all, I'm pretty sure it's as good as liquid's that sells for $199 now. However, the one that sachem got is about the same price and if he's happy with it I think I may go with the mighty max.

Been out on Mead twice this year, it's going to be in the 90's on Wed and Thurs, just wish the water would hurry up and warm up!

Just reviewing posts, and I wasn't sure if I had posted this picture of how my costal night lights had turned out....

This pair was $199.00 as well, for comparison.

Here is a LED strip light set-up I put in my boat a couple weeks ago. It turned out a little bright unless I was in an area that had light around. In the pitch black areas I lost some night vision. I will wire a dimmer in to correct that problem. I wired the lights into an empty acc switch the boat came with. It was quick 1 hour project that cost $50. I had LED's in my last boat, so I had to have them in this one. The boat turned a lot of heads on the water for the fireworks last weekend.

I ended up putting a dimmer switch in last summer and it worked great. It gave me back my night vision on darker lakes and allowed me to turn them up when I was downtown Milwaukee. Here is the link http://www.amazon.com/JACKYLED-Dimming- ... led+dimmer

Can't beat it in my opinion for less than 10$. Still works great after taking out of storage this spring.
