I am thinking of adding a couple LED underwater lights. The SL has the LED courtesy lights from the factory but I was wondering if it would be possible to tie into that wiring or if I need to add another switch and run them on their own. Any advise? |

I am looking into this project myself. IMO, it would be best to have them separate from the courtesy lights. Not sure what underwater lights you are thinking of, but based on some past threads the Seablaze 3 seem to be about the brightest on the market for the price. There are definately some cheaper options out there that I am considering. I dont need to light up the entire lake anyway

I would put em on their own switch. You can buy the printed switch cover from pacer. |

You can go ether way. There LED lights, so I don't see them pulling that much power that they would need there own wiring. If you add a switch, then you can turn ether one off & on. I would say it's up to you. Just check the wire size on the factory ones. |

The only problem with everything on one switch will be your courtesy lights will be on the whole time the uw lights are on.Could be a distraction at night when under way. I agree with the others here, put the LED'S on a seprate switch. For my LED cockpit lights, I mounted a switch under the dash by epoxying a bent aluminium plate to the back side of the dash. You can't see the switch at all. I am looking at adding underwater lighting this year, and the costalnightlights, as Thalasso mentioned, are on my short list for the lights that I would mount. |

I just got my blue led drain plug light in today. I'm going to wire it in if it ever stops raining up here! Anybody else have on of these yet? It's very brite as I had already tested it on the car battery. It has 6 LEDs. I really liked the idea that I don't have to drill into the hull. |

I have read on other forums that "most" hull plug LED's aren't very bright, but if your saying the one you bought is, I would be very interested in getting one too. |

Depends on the water clarity on how good those work. Around my parts? The water is very brown. Two big oceanleds light up around 3ft max |

My lake is about as clear as Loch Ness. But it's still cool having those lights on my boats. I tried it out last nite and I thought it did a pretty good job. Pics to follow. Wired it into my nav light switch, and attached some quick connects to the light at the transom. For a quick setup I'm fairly pleased with the results overall. The only downside I found was the engine being rite in front of the light casts a bit of a shadow. |

I did end up going with coastal night lights. Install will be happening this week. I will be sure to post pics as well. |
