I stepped on the bilge hose and broke my original (1997) Attwood V1250 bilge pump

They dont make it anymore, and its impossible to find even a used one.

Any suggestions on a new bilge pump? Also, should I increase the gph to 1500 or 2000? My logic is, the pump will not be pumping at 1500gph anyways due to lift and length of the bilge hose. It will likely be pumping somewhere closer to 1000gph. I have 1 1/8" hose, which I read can handle up to 1500gph. Anyways...just an idea. Suggestions are appreciated!

Well, you can choose between the Attwood 1700 or the Rule 1500. Both use the same power draw, so I'd say go Attwood.

The problem you might run into is the original pump you had was rated at 3 amp draw. The new pumps use up to 6 amps. Make sure the wiring size is correct or you'll need to change that out, and you'll probably have to use a bigger fuse.

I ended up getting a very nice deal on a Rule 1500. I figured its still better than the Attwood V1250 I had in there, Gph-wise.

Wished I could've went with the Attwood 1700 just for more gph capacity, but it was 3x what I paid for the Rule.

And I boat in Lake St Clair, where the average depth is like 3 feet...lol. I always joke that if we sink, the most severe injury we will suffer is wet ankles
