First time here and hope can find some answers.
I got a H200SS 2012 and the battery went dead with less than 3 months using the boat.
A friend of mine told me I have to install some sort of switch in order for the battery not to be discharged while idle.
Is this correct?
Just installed a new battery and hope it lasts for at least 2 years.

If you're going to do that, I'd add a dual battery system with a 1,2, Both (1+2) and OFF switch. I'd also use gp 27 dual purpose batteries because they are better at recovering from discharges than standard starting batteries. A battery in a boat that new should not be totally discharged in 3 months unless something was left on. If its going dead periodically you should find out why. Either something is draining it or the alternator is not charging it enough.
