I've got this light assembly as in two spots on the boat.

The transom locker light burned out, and it has a weird bulb in it, so I might as well replace the entire housing.

Has anyone done this or can recommend a source?

Been there.... I could not find a replacement, so I went this route: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=12893

Thanks! I'm looking for a whole housing replacement...I'd assume just replace the entire fixture.

If you find one that does a good job of covering (or sealing) the huge hole they drilled behind the fixture, let me know. Not sure why they made such a big hole! I say this because the same fixtures are on the swim platform, and when you come off plane quickly, the backwash runs up and over the lights. I used a lot of silicone on the swim platform lights when I replaced two of them - so far so good. I realize for this inside fixture, that concern is insignificant.

I noticed too that they changed the swim platform lights on the 2006 model.

Quick and easy solution.

This measure 3" x either .75" or 1.25" depending on which website you look at. Worth a shot in my book...amazon has a good return policy if its not correct. Getting the blue version for my transom storage locker, now the little bit of light shining through will match!

I believe this is the original fixture:

Fire: where is your light mounted in the stern locker? I don't think I have one in mine...I will have to check tonight.

Our transom storage doors are different, but the shore power compartment, it's inside on the top. Bulb went out, so I'm replacing the housing with the blue LED version. The white version arrived yesterday and it looks like it will be a perfect fit for the step light.

Yes, that is the part ! Nowhere on the FW site for any model is it listed ( maybe someone will prove me wrong, but I spent a lot of time looking!). My 2004 Sundowner had 2 at the transom, a 2006V ista I looked at had 4. Mine yellowed and cracked as had the ones on the Vista, I found nothing that would fit into the recess/ hole on the transom ( too late now anyhow as that sorely missed boat is gone !)

I just searched and found it in the parts book for my boat...but no way would I put that back on. This new light should cover the hole no problem.

Let us know how well it covers the large hole. Also, is the screw spacing the same as the old fixture? I am wondering if this new unit could be tightened securely on the swim platform such that water will not leak into the large hole behind it. Do they provide a backing gasket?
Strange how these 25,000, 50,000+ LED's never quite meet the advertised life expectancy

Will do, not sure about the screw holes. They will be covered by the housing based on my measurements.

On the swim platform, this is going inside a locker, up on the top, so it will never get wet. '08 and newer boats have blue LED lights on the swim platform instead of these...much cleaner look.

Perfect fit. Barely covers the hole.
