If you have a true inflatable, all you need is a stern light.

In Michigan we have to have bow and stern lights if it has a motor. Without the motor we can get by with just a flashlight.

I was looking last year at lights to mount to the dinghy and it was looking like it wouuld cost $100+.
For $25 I think I may give these a try for the couple of time a season when we use the dinghy at night.

I would think something more in the line of this kit is easier and you don't have to worry about overlapping green and red lights. If you only need the nav i think they sell that separate from the stern light. I also think I saw this at West Marine if you need it quick.

That is what I was looking at last year. The problem is I have nothing to clamp the bow light to. I would have to glue on some sort of handle or something to attach it to.
These small LED lights look like I can just zip tie them to the rope already on the boat.

Then that should work. The only concern I would have is they will be mounted low to the water and may disappear with wave action. Try to mount them as high on the tubes as possible.

The other option would be to mount the nav on the front of the stern light pole. I doubt a small boat will matter that the lights are in the same spot and may even be better so others can tell you are in a small boat. In fact I thought I saw a hand held that had both nav and stern light in one. I can't seem to find it on the net though.
