I have tried to search on topics related to folks installing marine LED flex strip lighting inside of the boat for like a courtesy light replacement.

The threads I found were all old and the images were not showing up.

Have you all tried this and have been successful?

thought about getting about 4 strips... 2 each side and hook up to my extra asc switch.

which strips are people using?
Best place to purchase?

thoughts?

I haven't pulled the trigger yet- too many other projects right now. But I've checked out some of the kits on this site:

May be worth a look.

Whatever you do- let us know how it turns out!

I got mine through Superbrightled. I went with the multi-color strips with controller and tied into an accessory switch. I replaced my dash lights in red and primarily keep the led strips in red also.

I also put some plain white ones in the engine bay and tied into the courtesy lights. Really helps to see in that deep dark cavern. So now I use the multi-color led strips as courtesy lights and primarily use my original courtesy lights if I need to access the engine bay. Obviously, you need to protect the wiring in the engine bay to ensure no potential for sparks.

Here are some crappy cell phone pics:

I'm real happy with the way this all turned out. And it's still going strong 5+ years later. Good luck, have fun and be safe!

I installed flexible LED strips in 2014 in my boat. As you can see in the pic I outlined the whole inside of the boat. That was too bright so I had to install a dimmer which was the perfect solution. Last summer they started peeling off in spots which became a pain. I had installed these in a clean 1 month old boat bought brand new. I was having to use some double sided tape to re attach them. I also ran into some of the LED sections getting corroded even though they were waterproof. Last month I pulled them off to replace them and it was not a fun chore cleaning off the old glue and 3M tape that the lights came with. So I would say be cautious of where you install them so they stay dry and do not get bumped, so they have the best chance of staying attached. I would love to use single LED's all over my boat but it being a 2014 I do not want to drill holes all over inside the boat. After I removed the old ones last month I just installed 2 new strips underneath the starboard and port dash areas to avoid having tough cleanup if they need to be replaced and also to avoid them taking night vision away. I think they are great for a easier and inexpensive project, but not a great for the long term. Just my 2 cents, hope this helps.
