I just got a Blue Sea add a battery kit which contains the switch and ACR. On the wiring diagram it shows wiring all the negative cables to a buss bar. On my current single battery setup the negative battery cable just goes to a ground point on the motor that is shared with a few other small wires. Should I add the buss bar or is it fine to just stick with the factory ground point?

YEs it would be beneficial to have a central Ground post. Purely to eliminate the risk of stripping or cross threading the engine block threads. Personally the only i feel that only a heavy main ground goes to the engine then the rest of the boat is to a central post. NO you do not have to, BUT it is easier and better long term.

BUS is not needed unless you have too many grounds on the battery posts. Just connect the new battery NEG to existing battery NEG with new cable.

Add the bus bar. It will so make future connections a lot easier.

I put one of these kits in over the off-season, I debated the ground buss or not and ended up putting one in. It was WELL WORTH the extra few bucks. First of all it's convenient for future needs, but most of all it made working with all the different heavy-gauge ground cables MUCH easier.
