I would get the ProNauticP Series. The 1220P is the one I got and can charge up to 3 banks. Its a better charger for a cruiser which and can be used as a power supply.

No reason I can Think of. I have 4 group 31 batteries on my 268. 3 deep cycle marine batteries for the house and a starting marine battery for the engine, never an issue running the fridge and stereo all weekend long

I just Went with the 31 for starting for a little extra, and it looks good matching

Here in the Midwest, we have start batteries, deep cycle, and the combos you mentioned. I just Feel, get the right battery type for the situation. A combo will be ok at both but will not be great. That’s just my opinion.

Just make sure they are all of the same type. i.e. lead acid, agm. The charger will not be optimized when mixing.
Marine batteries are usually Deep Cycle(do not use for starting battery) and dual purpose for starting and house batteries. You can use the dual purpose for starting and house but a deep cycle will work better as a dedicated house battery. I used the dual purpose on the 258 because it didn't not have a separate system for house.

You can do 2 group 31s if you have room. I don't have a generator, so I did that. I put 2 Group 31s in parallel for the house and one group 27 for the engine starting.
