Post subject: | Bilge Pump Help Please |
I'm looking for a attwood v500 modle# 4204 They stoped making them last year and I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find one? I've been looking but unable to find one. That's what my boat currently has in it, and it's a lot cheaper to buy whats already in there rather then buy a whole different type of pump. The marine said it would take him 15 mins and free to replace if I could find that pump, but two hours and 300 bux to replace it with a different model, so I'd love to find the attwood v500 4204 |

It's a non automatic bilge pump. 2 hours to replace for a different kind!??!! Undo clamp holding hose, cut 2 the two wires. Splice in the 2 wires from new pump, connect hose. 15 minutes same brand or any brand. Go pick up an attwood from walmart for $20 and do it yourself. |

Ric is right, it should not be that hard to go with another pump. |

the mounting bracket is just 2 stainless screws screwed in the bottom of the boat. It's not even needed with a manual pump. It doesn't care if it right side up, sideways or upside down. Buy new pump from walmart for $20, undo hose from old pump, put same color wires to same color wires, put hose on new pump, drop back in bilge. Who cares about screwing it down, it's not going anywhere. Dude, it's the easiest thing you could do on a boat aside from changing the anchor light bulb. If you insist of not doing it, I'm sure there's plenty of people in your marina that would do it for a case of beer. 2 screws, one clamp, 2 wires, 1 screw driver. Really. If you want a cheap upgrade, get a 800gph pump. They share the same hose size as a 500 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Tsunami-800-G ... C/11071214 |
