Has anyone had to replace the Shurflo strainer on the fresh water pump (casualty of the cold temps)? I think this one is out of date but thought I would ask to see if it is still available or what the replacement is. I don't want to have to re-plumb if possible. Thanks.

Thanks. I just ordered it on Amazon (we are members) and got free shipping. This must be the new replacement: Shurflo 255-313 Classic Series Twist-On Strainer.

The tread size is standard, it can't be too hard to find a replacement one.

I replaced ours last year, and that's exactly what it looked like. I think you'll be good.

I've got the same replacement on mine, and the original looked like the first one.
I like the new design. It is much easier to take it apart to clean the filter. With the old design, taking it apart required you to move the lines around and on mine that was hard to do.

The previous owner of my boat had super glued the two halves of the original strainer together, made it really difficult to clean!

While I was in there, I added valves from HomeDepot (Shark Bite I think was the name) to both sides of the pump. Easy to install, cut the line and slip them on. The one on the intake side lets me work on the pump without flooding the boat and the one on the outflow side let me isolate a leak I had in my system which was difficult to find. By shutting this valve I was able to prove that the pump was not to blame for the issue. I actually added another along the line to further isolate the cold and hot systems.
