OK, the pump is getting power, but not coming on. I say the pump is gone. But being new on this boat (Vista 26'8), am
I missing something in the system? (used a voltmeter at the pump)

If you have power to the pump and a faucet is open so pressure is down, but the pump doesn't come on, my guess is that you need a pump. Using the voltmeter across the two wires at the pump should confirm that you have 12 volts (+) and ground (-) connections. You might try the "personally gratifying" technique of tapping or smacking it with a tool of your choice, but even if that works I would not want to rely on it  As with anything electrical on a boat, there is a possibility that you have a poor connection that allows you to read voltage but bad connections will not carry any significant current. Check wiring and connections. Hope you enjoy your 268 as much as we do ours.

Is itpossible that the pressure switch on the pump is stuck open? It will be located on the end of the pump where the water connections are. Power comes from the panel to the pressure switch and then powers the pump. You can replace the pressure switch on most pumps without replacing the whole pump

You probably have a Shurflo and here is a trouble shooting guide.

Since I just purchased the boat, and was told the system was winterized, how much water needs to be in the tank before it
starts to pump of show up in the line?

Any idea?

Jay

It takes enough to fill the lines, probably the water heater, and at least a little in the tank. Most of these pumps are diaphragm pumps that can be run dry without harm, but its probably good to not run it a long time that way.
