The center hub which bolts to the splined steering wheel on our 2006 288 Vista was originally chromed. However, the chrome plating is peeling of and looks bad. I checked on having it re-chromed and the best price is $100...yikes! Wondering if anyone has one from a wheel which was replaced for one reason or another. More specifically, this hub is 3.5" in diameter, has six bolt holes around the circumference and has a Four Winns logo in the center. Thanks for checking out this request.

Those chrome plated diecast centres are dire; I don't think they looked good even when new. I made a new centre ( fitted with the original centre insert) from 5mm sheets of PC I had lying around using some holesaws/ flapwheels and satin black spray paint. It looks pretty good and is totally resistant to corrosion ! The boat is 100 miles away at the moment, so I can't take/ post pics.

I was able to peel off the remaining chrome, wet sanded the die cast, sprayed it with 2 coats of clear coat auto motive and it looks decent. Thanks for your post.
