Anyone have a simple solution for a fender that attaches to the boat to protect from hitting a piling? I back into my slip so the piling lines up about 4 feet back from the bow, right at the rub rail. We have a tide and levels drastically change from flooding so I can't attached anything to the piling. I have good 8" fenders on the side but occasionally I will hit the piling when we get a good wake because the whole floating dock moves. Usually there is a large boat next to me and because he ties one way and I tie the opposite way it keeps the dock more stable. I have never noticed this before because that boat is always there but he hasn't launched yet..

A better solution if you have a permanent/semi-permanent slip is to fender the slip, not the boat.

Example: Piling fender. If the tide changes A LOT use two

I just found these online but not sure how well they stay in place attached to the boat.

Those would not work all the time since we have such a drastic change in water levels. Its not uncommon to get more than 10 feet higher levels. We are flooded about 3 feet now and tides are generally 3 feet so that's a 6 foot change to mid summer at low tide.

Then buy as many as you need and stack them on top of eachother. Your problem isn't unique and there's solutions made. My neighbor uses this brand on his pilings. The "Single D" profile to be exact. There's retailers you can order whatever length you need on the web. http://www.dockedge.com/products/list.a ... remium_pvc

Here you go, 16ft roll for a good price.

I wouldn't mind using those but the pilings are removed every fall and I would have to jump in the 40-50 degree water every spring to install these. That's why I am looking for a solution on the boat rather than the piling.
