Post subject:  Air Conditioner Sea Water Pump

Had a very low tide a few weeks ago where the boat was sitting on the bottom, the air conditioner sea water pump was running and sucked up a bunch of mud and clogged the intake line and strainer. I've flushed the lines and emptied the strainer but the pump still isn't working, it seems to be running but no water is flowing. I've read where you can't run these magnetic pumps dry and the "wet end" may become damaged. Is this thing repairable after running dry or do I need to just buy a whole new pump?

Model is Dometic LC-3CP-MD 115volt.

What you did when you cleaned the strainer is injested air. Crack the lid on the strainer while the a/c is running,it should prime the system this way or if you have a genny take the boat for a ride with the a/c on and it will prime it this way also

I would pull the pump and inspect it, they don't like to run dry. They are easy to rebuild.
Here is theparts breakdown
