Got my bow tie down done today. It had a 4" long bolt that came with it though, so I had to run to Lowe's and get a smaller sized bolt. So much for that acorn nut I had bought from Fastenal...

DANG! Sorry about that, I forgot to tell you they put a 4" bolt in the bow tie-down package. I had them send me another 1.5" bolt like what comes with the transom tie-downs, and in the process completely forgot that it originally came with a 4". My apologies!

No worries. I jumped the gun and ordered all the stuff before hand. I got that and my keelguard installed today, as well as patched two gel coat issues on the bottom half of my hull.

Isn't that the truth. Tomorrow my LEDs should be in, as well as my new GPS mount. Then its sanding and polishing the gel coat repairs, and hope my new anchor rode/chain gets here on time on Friday so we can head out for the night on saturday.

After speaking with 230Mike, I opted to go the same route as him. I had a couple of brackets fabricated and mounted in the same spots. Once that was complete, I drilled a hole through the 1/4" plate on the winch mount for the bow tie down. Doing that made it very clear why it's so much easier to weld on brackets  It took me a solid 20 minutes and two full batteries on the drill with a cobalt bit just to get through that 1/4". I didn't get pictures, but mine looks pretty much the same as 230Mike's.

Yeah time flies! :D That stowaway is now a junior at the University of Kansas, majoring in music performance, hoping to become a symphony performer.

I've found there to be timeless info on the site and great folks willing to help and befriend.

Thanks, gentlemen.

They became standard around 2008 or 09.
