Don't know if there is even an answer out there for this. When pulling somebody on the tube the rope seems so low to the water that it constantly gets caught in the wake. Makes it impossible to pull somebody outside of the wake (under 30mph) and sometimes jerks the kids around when it goes in and out of the water.

Anybody have a solution for this other than a wakeboard tower or bigger boat. (both of which I want already)

This is a problem with many of the bigger boats too, FYI. There's a pylon option on some of them, but I'm not sure it's available for the 180.

A tower is not made for tubes.

Typical Aftermarket Ski Pylon has warning sign says "Do not use with towables" (tubing) since shear strass of pulling tubing is much greater than pulling skier or wakeboader. FW offers Ski Pylon (about foot and half tall) for H240 & H260 which has no warning label on it. My dealer told me that we should have no problem to use it for Tubing and the most of their customer who ordered this option use it for tubing without any issue. I have one in my new boat and I am planning to use for tubing in July 4th weekend so I will let you know how it works. The pylon is secured heavily to floor and transom wall with thick brackets so they feel very strong. Unfortunately it will not work for H180 since I do not think 180 has enough space in transom wall to attach this heavy bracket.

I get the same thing, but because I'm using a fairly heavy rope that I have for a few years. I didn't get the same problem using the standard, cheaper ropes as I did in the past. If you are using a heavy rope, try a lighter one. It's cheaper than a pylon.

Yeah, now that you mention it - Walt makes a solid point. In the past when I pulled a single rider / single tube I just used the el-cheapo rope that I bought along with it and I used the pylon - no issue. If I pulled 2 single tubes or the three person tube I used a tow bridle. That was a pain for the same reasons you mention - rope dragging in the wake and stealing some of the whip.
Last season I invested in a decent wakeboard and was advised to get a rope that was for wakeboarding - no stretch. I got a Helium Powercord which is 55' with 5 removable sections to make up to 80' The thing was super expensive - like +/- $90 but it is really thin maybe 1/4" - like a cord with no stretch and unbelievably strong. Now that I am thinking about it I had no issue at all no matter how or what I dragged when I used that rope. Now, not to suggest you should run out and buy a $90 rope but maybe check the wakeboard shop for something similar and cheaper to try to minimize the problem. You at least get a sweet rope that you will find a use for one way or another.

I wish I would of added the pylon for my Funship. When pulling a skier or tuber the rope drags in the water because the ski eye is to low. Does anyone have any idea on the cost to add one on now?

Here is an option to keep the rope out of the water. Not cheap but check out the video of it in use as it seems effective... http://www.sportsstuff.com/dyn_prod.php ... 0&k=145377

I just bought two new tubes including a 9' wide 3 person version. I will need a heavy rope so maybe this thing would be a good idea.

I found it cheaper and free shipping...
