Well, my $2k canvas mooring cover didn't come with straps either. Just the loops for my own rope. But they did offer suggestion in the docs on how much rope I'd need, and it was spot-on. What I learned was the cord fades something serious in the winter sun, so I won't bother with very expensive stuff for next winter either.
