I've heard contrasting stories about the covers; "they protect the hull from abrasion" and "they collect grit and dust that can accelerate abrasion!".

That holiday weekend really got you back in the cruiser mindset didn't it!!

As for fenders and covers, I'm a big fan of the covers. My previous boat had the wideband black hull and it showed every little fine scratch. Unless the fenders were brand new I had major dull patches after a weekend of raft ups until I started using the covers. I polished and wax to start the season and rarely noticed much effect where the fenders were. I figure it it was was good for my black it has to be a pretty good for all boats.

It sure did.

FYI-- Overtons has a half price sale on Polyform G5's, but they are sold out of all the good colors and won't take backorders.

the "sand" color fenders with black covers are very classy.... Ask Optimus Prime as he has a full set now. :D

They still have those in stock.

Just run like hell from blue. I call it 'bayliner blue'

That was my next question. My 225 is a two tone, white/green. The 268 we are looking at is a white/blue, CCB.

Thoughts?

Are the seats trimed with tan/khaki like the 08's are? Carpets?

Ask the wife...

My choice would be sand. That tan color matches great with blue or black.

Or - get crazy with burgundy. (But that's the WSU Cougar in me)

18.99 each... holy cow. And if you look around online, there are always coupons for Overton's. And, Live Search Cashback....

Carpets are sand in both boats, seats are just white...there is some darker trim in there though.....

Order up 6 G5s in Sand.

You'll love them.

Find some Green or blue fender whips.

For less than 120 bucks!! Crazy. I thought I was lucky to find them around 30/each.

Dunno if these coupons count, but try them:

I'd like to keep the cost down, the admiral will kill me if I spend that much more on the boat this season....and it might kill the upgrade for this year.

The beauty is that this purchase carries over to the new boat! And you send the old stuff with the old boat when it comes time.

It's spendy... but at 18 bucks a fender, it makes the pain alot easier. :D
