WM is having (what seems to be) their annual 25% off sale on WM branded dock lines. I've had a couple of different brands of dock lines, and these are BY FAR the nicest I've used, or even seen. They're pricey, but the sale helps and I don't think you'll find a better line.

Dang...talk about timing. I just promised the wife no more boat $$$ for a while, since I got the 6th fender on the way.

New dock lines are the last thing I want...well that and a 268!

Thanks for the heads-up. I ordered three dock lines today, thanks to you.

Any advice on the optimum length of dock line for a Sundowner 205? Heading to WM for the sale, and the admiral wants the longest we can get....

I have five 3/8" dock lines (red, of course): two at the bow, two crossed at the stern, and one spring line. My lines are 15', except the spring line which is 25' (I think 15' would have sufficed there, as well). All are fastened to my slip and are much longer than necessary for my situation, and a bit cumbersome. I may shorten them.

I ordered three more 15', 3/8" dock lines so that we can tie up to have lunch or dinner at dockside restaurants.

Kevin

Thanks - that sounds right to me - I'm going for the red as well!

If you have a slip, or even rent one for a week or a weekend, it's nice to have enough lines that you can get them all adjusted for that slip and then leave them there when you're out, and still have more in the boat for tying up at other docks.

Of course that carries with it the risk that the drunk in the next slip will help himself to one of your lines. DAMHIKT. Which means you need to have a spare line or two on hand anyway.
