I am thinking about buying a generator for the boat. I have been looking at the Hoda's because of what I have read here. So far my best price is $1024.00. What do you guys think? I will be using it while out on the hook. Is it a pain? Just thought I would ask before I spend over a thousand bucks.

Call Mayberry's to compare prices if you don't mind buying over the phone.

I have an eu2000i and it is a great little generator. I bought it to use on the boat but other than testing, I never have because when we are at anchor my wife likes the quiet. When it gets too hot we head back to the dock and plug in. I tested a friends eu1000i on my 04 268 and it ran the air just fine. They are certainly easier to lug around at 29 lbs vs. 46 lbs for the eu2000i. The last time I checked at Wise Sales the eu1000i was $669.99 shipped. The eu2000i was $869.99.

Like Mayberrys, it is certainly worth giving them a call. And just because I don't use it on the boat does not mean it has not been used. It ran for 9 straight days after Ike stopping only for gas and oil changes.

I have one. I used it for my cruiser that I previously owned. Absolutely loved it.

I have found many uses for it other than just on my boat. I bet you will find you will too. I kept mine even though I no longer own my cruiser. I' ll have to check but I think I bought mine from Wise sales.

I bought our from mayberrys.com when they first came out. Love it
Use on the boat currently, have used to power 5th wheel RV, some items at home when power is out,ect......You can do better than $1000, shop around. I priced one out a few months ago at my local dealer for $875

Again you can't get a better portable generator!!

If you do buy one, the Yahoo EU2000 group is a good source for information.

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Honda_EU2000_Generators/

Its not as engaging as a forum but they are a knowledgeable and helpful group none the less

Thanks for the info, I think I am sold on buying one. My next cruiser will have a factory one installed.

Once you get it, do a search on mounting on swim deck and adding a power outlet to the transom to eliminate draping a shore power cord up to OEM shore power outlet.
