With the tank stored in a very small space like the bathroom it could MOST CERTAINLY be catastrophic. You greatly underestimate the explosive power of a gas leak in a confined space. While the tanks may well be disposable, yours lives are not.

Doesn't look to me like they are stored in the bathroom. Besides, any leak from one of those little bottles is likely to be slow, and that storage tube appears to be as secure as anyplace I've ever seen to store them. I don't see the risk here. If I were that spooked by those bottles, I wouldn't have them on the boat.

The reason for the project was to store the bottles outside the boat, in that tube. When docked, I leave the pole and tube on the platform. It has vent holes to allow any gas to dissipate, and being on the platform, it'll just float away. The grill is stored in the head, but not the gas bottles. I just bring it out when using it.
