My current carpets fit fine and do not appear to have shrunk at all. I would expect using them as a template to work out ok. But I'm probably going to make templates anyway. Mainly because I'd want the striped teak pattern to line up properly. The rugs by themselves are offset and a bit curved. I'm thinking of using a laser pointer (from my level) to make a clear line where the patterns have to line up.
