Hello all, been able to take the boat out a couple of times this season for test runs.. Still waiting for the real warm weather here in OK. We had no damage from the storm that tore through OKC a week ago, thank goodness. Im looking for some sort of seat cushion to add to my existing FW seat. The newer boats have little cushions that flip up to raise the driver up above the window for pulling skiers and wake boarders. Im just wanting to add this to the drivers seat as a flip up set up. Make sense? I dont want a new seat, just to add the cushion. Any suggestions?

Along the lines of this, this is like a 600 dollar seat. Not looking for something that expensive..

While not nearly as "fancy" you could go to an upholstery shop and have them make a cushion that you could drop on the seat (booster seat fashion) just to accomplish the same thing (then throw it in the drivers foot well area when not using it). I'm considering doing the same thing (just cause I'm getting tired of sitting on my knees) when pulling.

Thats exactly my problem, I'm on my knees and I feel like it will start to affect the seat doing it like that. Ive thought about just adding a strap to a cushion and stapling it to the bottom of the seat so it will just hang when not in use.

I've got the same issue. My solution so far is to sit on a square throwable (Type IV) life preserver. I have a white one that matches my seat. It's probably not good for it but it works.

Not having the bolster is the one thing I hate about the helm seat. Keep the ideas coming- I'm sure we'll find one that works well for all of us.

I do the same, I've often thought about getting a second one for a little extra height.

They sell adjustable posts for the Helm seat. I was debating getting one of those as I have the same problem.

Where can you find these? Any online links?

I have seen them in the West Marine Store.

http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/st ... sNum=10825

The store had more options and I did not search the site to hard.

Here is one at Overton's http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product ... rchID=4006

I'd say if you don't want to use one of those square throwable cushions as was previously mentioned, PDACPA has the solution. I've got the flip up bolsters, but if I didn't this idea is perfect, the only issue I see is matching the base with the exsisting holes, but you could probably work around that if needed by enlarging a hole or two on the post base or drilling additionaly holes in the base that would line up, but hopefully you wouldn't have to do that.

I looked into these when I re-did my interior...the problem is that they do not adjust low enough for the way the interiors on these boats are set up...they are really more for boats with a high windshield and higher seating position like a walk around style boat...
so I would up just getting a new set and cutting them to get the standard height. The helm seats with the flip up bolsters are the best solution but they are very pricey....

I find that I rarely sit down and look out the windshield from the helm. Usually someone is sitting in the bow making the view obstructed and I just like being up above and feeling the breeze.

I just keep forgetting to pull my seat off and take the base off and measure the base and the height that it is currently at and see roughly how much higher I need. I also think I might get the swivel option so that the seat can spin around and face the stern when at anchor and just sitting on the boat with others.

Ive got the swivel seats and they are good for looking around the boat while pulling. Ive got a couple of fabric shops working on quotes for me to get a good cushion that I can attach to the bottom of the seat to swing up and hang down when not in use. Ill let you all know what I find out.
