Not Penny's Boat

Well I am me on here. I got the boat middle season last year and well she had not been cleaned In years it looked like. So we used her the rest the summer then winterized her. Over the winter I gathered all sorts of goodies and I am still gathering. Anything from 3,200w worth of stereo to rayco water fuel separator, to trailer rollers. Basically I am doing the 20 revival. Any and all maintenance and reliability items are being overhauled.

So far stereo is 90% done
All new Faria gauges stainless rings matching depth gauge. Blue led lights
Carbon dash.
LED cockpit lights BlUE
New rocker switched blue led
New emergency cutoff
New cig lighter
New ignition switch
New starter
3 group 24 marine deep cycles. One is a cranking specific. Other 2 are house power for stereo.
Isolation switch and ACR (automatic charging relay) keeps start always full and seperate
New high fuel pump
New water pump assembly
New bellows, seals, gimble bearing, ujoints
Out drive will be painted when pulled next week.
New seals for the trim. Will be rebuilt when drive is pulled.
New 1,500gph bilge pump

The hull has been compounded to get the super thick oxydation off. Then a diamond glaze, show glaze oil, and a finish wax. This was done end season before winterizing. Fresh coat polish wax will happen in next week or so.

New trailer rollers.
New full morning trailer able cover.
New double beaded dock lines
New life jackets
New 200' 1/2" anchor line and 12' of powder coated white chain.

Motor will get:
New plugs
New wires

Out drive will get HPF Pro senthetic gear oil. When it is rebuilt.
New Bimini with sunbrella fabric and matching storage boot. Will arrive end month.

There is more on the list of stuff I'm forgetting.

Here she is the day I bought her.

Great boat name.

Boat looks really good after the wheel work.

I'm not an audio guy but that work looks good also.

Keep the pics coming.

Faria white with stainless rings and matching faria depth finder with in hull transducer. I pulled the dash and redid the wiring and all new connections. Man that was a rats nest cluster mess. Carbon fiber dash accent. Pulled the gauge cluster mounting housing. Sanded smooth the old crusty cracked paint and re sealed it and added 4 coats of gray. After the rain stops in next couple days it will get 3-4 coats of clear coat then wet sand and polished. I pulled the glove box and did the same to it but gloss black to match the carbon behind the gauges. And I added all new rocker switches with blue led. All the lighting in the boat will be blue. Also blue led light inside the gauges.

Holy smokes, Batman - well done! 8)
How does the ported 10" sub go with the 12" sealed sub?
Two different sized drivers generally clash while trying to play the same frequencies.
Love the dash! 8)

It's a brave soul who buys a boat knowing how much work it needs (and that' s just the visible stuff), but you've done a great job so far.

Thanks ..

As the boat is an open air sound stage I am not worried about the differences in the reponxe of the 10 vs 12 they will be controlled seperatly and you will not be able to notice any differences. Now if it was in a car or studio that I was setting up I would do things a hair different.

As for listening. I still have to finishe the power and connect all the wires to the amps.

As for HU there was a new Sony marine in the box uninstalled in the boat when I bought it. I plan to run it feeding the amps until it dies.

Mounted it on carbon insert and covered with a waterproof tinted houseing.

Some pics of the power wires I used for my batteries and feeding my amps.

Sand blasted the old crusty wheels and primer and paint. They will become the dual spares when I get new wheels and tires here in next few weeks.

Well I have built 3 boats and just finished fully restoring a 1961 frathercraft runabout and restored the original 1960 60hp putboard. So I'm not afraid of sweat equity. The floor was redone at some point in past few years as it is all marine treated ply. And solid. One big plus. Also my dad is a marine surveyed and appraiser, so I have grown up in and around boats. Bought my first Jon boat at age 12 with grass cutting money. Grandad and great granddad were all boaters GGGgrand was one of the founders of Carolina yacht in charleston SC. One could say I am a boater. Sailed competitively from around 9 till present.
