It has a 2x3 or so opening that will let it drain. Plus a bungie system on the back. The fit is very snug as I bought the cover specific to the size of tire that i have. This is the key element, as it only has about an inch of height and width give, resulting in a perfect fit. new vapor barrier plastic       bottoms of the bow seat. being trimmed out.

Unbelievable that you have been able to teach yourself so much with regard to upholstery. That stuff seems out of my league, although I am curious as can be as to how it's all done. Would love, at the very least, to be able to design and make a very thorough boat cover with Sunbrella material. I have always loved the ones that completely drape the boat to the bottom of the sides/back/front...basically covering everything. |

A few years ago i redid the Booth seating, couch, drapes, window tops. My mom made custom clothes as a hobbie when i was growing up and I learned how to use a machine by watching her. At age 14 i started working for my uncle laying tile and installing granite counters. The shop next to his was a custom upholstery shop and i would go over their about every day and watch David work and talk about cars and boats. This is where i picked up most of my knowledge by watching him for 6 years on and off. SO this boat was NOT my learning situation by any means, and i did not just buy a machine and sit down and make these seats. I just wanted to make that all clear.. As far as you making a boat cover. They are not hard other than having to manage HUGE yards of material at once and this requires a very large table or a helper. As far as a boat cover for the most part it is all simple straight lines sewn. Unlike these seats with curves an shapes. The Gunnel cover extensions will be my next project added onto my current Sunbrella Cover to protect the gunnels from the sun while out of the water. |

ok i have had a few family set backs and delays the past couple weeks but all is well. And we are getting DANG close. all 3 bow butt seats are done. All 3 back rests are sewn and the 2 large sides will be stretched tonight. next on the list is the rear bench seat. The plans for saturday are not to go in the boat as originally planned deadline. But the delays were for good reason so i am not mad, it looks like i will likely be a week behind my original goal so i am happy. Saturday i have to solder the harness plug to the trim and neutral safety for the new throttle, Change the oil and filter, check all the fuses and pre start items, then turn the key! I will also be installing the bow seats after I detail and wax that area.

Really excellent work! One thing I've wondered about, how do they bend that plywood for the bow side cushions? BTW my mother also made clothes for family members, and her father was a custom tailor from Italy who had a tailor shop in Queens NY in the 20s, 30s, and 40s.... Cleaning out my parents house, I found a lot of dress, pants and shirt patterns that my mom used to make clothes.... |

The wood is 3/16 and that thin it has some flex. So it forms to the hull. It is secured with automotive style door panel tree plugs and in the corners and ends with stainless bolts. |

side back rests, tonight i will test fit to double check that the corner material tension is correct and then do the final staples and blue trim.  gave the seat base sliders a nice bath in purple power then a deep scrub with soap and water. Nice and clean   i have a pile of upholstery to install this weekend

last night the test fit for tightness in the corners went great. excited to get them installed. Finished the final stretch and blue pipe trim. Saturday morning is Clean, wax, buff the entire bow seating area then install. After the bow install i will make the transom bench and proceed from their with as much as possible on the firing of the motor and pre start maintenance of motor.

I love the work!. Are you going to figure up how much you got invested in this ongoing project? I know I count smiles and memories with my family not dollars, but I have a 27 year old boat that I would love to redo. |

Doing it myself, shopping sales, and smart material purchases thru the entire project on top of the fact that i stole the boat from the previous owner. Leaves me still in the black for value of resale. Still much cheaper than a brand new boat. I would say i have less 3-4 months payment total invested in the entire project. |

 You, sir, have some incredible talent. I just blew about an hour and a half at work flipping through your restoration thread (whatever, it's Friday). My grandfather bought a '93 210 Horizon new and it's still in the family. I've been slowly taking over some responsibility for the boat and following his recent passing the torch has officially been passed. There's some great inspiration in here; thanks for sharing!
