Yep - adjust the cable so that full throttle at the lever has the butterflies as wide open as you can get them!

I've got the 4.3 GXi on a 200 with low hours. I've only tried WOT once after about 16 hours. Even so, it was one person (me) and 1/2 a tank, and quite a bit of trimming at WOT was required o get the max RPM and speed that I did. I should say that I've got a lot of experience at trimming at WOT too. Still, it was tough to get my boat up to 4600 RPM and about 50 MPH as registered by the inaccurate speedo. FW specs state that I should hit 52 at 4800. While I totally agee that speedos are inaccurate, I am more inclined to rely on the RPM gauge. Yes, I was able with significant trimming to reach near the suggested RPMs for WOT, still I can't help but believe that there is a better prop configuration for the load I had then, and certainly for the load I typically run with. Still, this kind of dialling in is way far down my to do list. Safety first.

My 1996 190 Horizon with 4.3GL SX will do 44 mph (speedo) at 4600 rpm (boat tach) with two people and half a tank of gas. The propeller is the OEM aluminum which is 14.5 X 19. I think that you might be a little over propped for the combination that you have. The boat gets up on plane in less than 5 seconds with the current setup.

I wouldn't trust a boat speedo at all - any sort of obstruction on the pitot can cause it to read low. I clocked 49mph with my GPS

What I found with my GPS is that my FW speedo reads low under 30 mph, pretty accurate at 30, then reads high above 30 mph.

When my GPS says 49 mph, my speedo reads 53.

Be careful running a propeller that is too large in pitch for your application. Volvo recommends that the 4.3GL should be able to reach 4400-4800 RPMs at WOT (wide open throttle), trimmed and loaded the way the boat would normally be most of the time. If you like to ski/wakeboard or need to plane quickly, use a propeller that will allow you to run close to the max (4800) at WOT. If you want better fuel economy, use a prop that will run closer to the minimum (4600). Over-proping a boat will cause high loads on the drive/engine and increase exhaust temperatures. This will eventually cause serious damage. Normal cruising for increased fuel economy and reduced engine wear is normally between 3000-4000 RPMs. An oversized propeller can still eventually cause engine/drive damage even when run at slower planing speeds.
