That looks great!

Does the speedometer use the existing paddle-wheel sender, or did you have to convert to pitot tube?

It uses the existing paddle wheel, Dave collected all the info like which speedo and wire harness plug to make sure it all matched up.

Wow, sounds like a "plug and play" replacement. Dave really should consider marketing his packages here as he would surely get quite a few orders.

I really like the wheels on your boat, did you put those on?

Thanks, they came with the boat when I bought it. They were an option when the boat/trailer was originally purchased new.

I would have it repaired by CDI before buying a new one from a FW dealer. But the replacement gauges seems like a good way to go.

Faria gauges can be bought for $160-180. Fab up your own dash from wood/carbon/aluminum/plastic/whatever you like. Little elbow grease and back yard engineering, and you can have one for prob under $300.

The new panel doesn't mount the same as the VDO panel, the new panel has mount holes at the top of the panel if you look on the pics you can see the 2 button head screws. I also added 3 more along the bottom that can not be seen from the front, I drilled holes in the cowl and added well nuts for the screws to lock into. It didnt take long and just a little bit of patience.

Wow - That looks brilliant! 8)
I have the last of the pre VDO gauges (the good ones) and wouldn't mind this upgrade!
Looks far more integrated than other attempts I've seen on here.
Is there a part number for the cluster?

Any numbers or references would be ideal, thanks.
Being on the other side of the planet, these things help!

I ordered mine from a dealer in 2008 for $516 and it was drop shipped from Four Winns. The part number listed is 025-3118 and the description is:

panel, instr.retro 98-01' sport/funship

It is the same one that was pictured earlier.

My boat is a 1998 Sundowner 225.

That is the Four Winns # that I have as well, I priced the panel from Four Winns here in Arkansas and it was going to be about 875.00 so I went with A & A Marine.
