2005 H210 Prop help

Hey guys I have tried searches and come up blank so please don't beat me up. I just bought a 2005 FW H210 with the Merc 5.7MPI and Bravo 1 outdrive, it came with a three blade aluminum 17p prop that is dinged up. I am looking for an upgrade. I pull tubers a lot and just cruise around. With the 17 I noticed it wanted to bounce as soon as I trimmed up at all. I was thinking about a hydrofoil but reading up I find many say with the correct prop it will not do that. I have not tested the boat much, literally just got it. I figured someone has tested a bunch of props on this boat and can help me out.

It says boats with the Merc 350 MPI B1 came stainless steel 14 1/2 x 19 prop. Since your prop is way different, I would start with a stock size and see how that works for you. It will be the best baseline and then you could go with something different if needed. With the 350 MPI, you will likely be fine with the stock prop size.

thanks , I tried to find the stock and had no luck, I will start there! If I went stainless would you still try the 19?

I would go with stock size and pitch just so you have a clear baseline. The 350 MPI has good power so I am sure it will work good for your size boat.

You don't have to get an OEM Merc prop either. On the H180 I had, I went with an aftermarket stainless prop made by Michigan Wheel called the Apollo.

After you establish a baseline, you can then figure if you need to go in a different direction.

I have a similar boat with the same engine. Mine is a 2006 H220.
The original prop felt a bit sluggish out of the hole. We wakeboard and tow biscuits etc. Ended up fitting a High 5 prop and it transformed the boat. Very happy.

what size high five did you go? what are you seeing for top end, I tried a 18p 4 blade this weekend, it was ok, I topped out at 45 though, hitting my 5000 rpm's.

FYI - the size of the prop is just as important as the pitch and number of blades.

yes , sorry I have been reading that as well, I had a 14.5x18 four blade Appolo on it. I have been looking at trim tabs as well, thought I would just put some smart tabs to help level it out, stop the porpusing and plane quicker, the spring loaded tabs are not rated to a boat this big so Im not sure what I should do with that. I assume someone would have tried everything on one of these boat and had some advise.

Stainless Steel Propeller
Diameter: 13.25
Pitch: 19
Blades: 5
Rotation: Right Hand

Not sure of top speed, but it is quite high, yet great out of the hole.....

I bought a 14 1/8 x 4 x 19 pitch prop, gets up good, dropped my rpms down to around 4300, still only hitting around 45mph, seems a little slow to me. Boat is not loaded other than me and a full tank. I expected 50-55 mph with the 350. Does this sound correct?

Sounds like you are over-propped. Per the FW 2005 "Fast Facts", the Full throttle operating range is 4800-5200 rpm. Keep in mind that going with a 4-blade prop will drop your RPMs, the stock props are 3-blade. You would have to adjust size and pitch accordingly.

just put smart tabs on yesterday, will have to test them soon.

I have an '06 H210 w/ a 5.0GXi and the standard prop. No bouncing whether I'm loaded or not, get about 51mph @ 4800 RPM.

My only issue is it cavitates a bit when I corner at high speed so I may go w/ some trim tabs for next year, other than that, love the way it handles.

I have a 2006 H210SS with a Merc 5.7
Stock prop on it is a stainless Mercury Mirage that is 14.75" x 21 pitch. It will do about 58mph(GPS) at 5100rpm.
