When in a slip for the season is the outdrive up or down? I can see down to lessen the stress on the shifter cable but also up because of less pressure on the hydraulics.

Down is easier on shift cable, easier on driveshaft bellows, and may protect the bellows better from critters that might swim and chew holes that cause leaks.

Up would be better if the slip is real shallow.

I agree. In addition to above, my drive has anodes on it so if I put the drive up, the drive would still be partially in the water with some of the anodes being out of the water, exacerbating the corrosion process.

Always down unless there's a specific reason to have it up (e.g., towing).
