Trim inoperable at launch yesterday (trimmed fully up). Relays both click, 10amp fuse fine, batteries new & fully charged, no corrosion on any wiring, trim switch unit fine. I checked the trim pump (on right side of lower unit) but no fuse there to check. Trim pump dead or anything else I can check before towing to shop? |

Happened to me last year, with twin engines I was able swap power and determined that there was no power. There should be a red button on the back of the engine that resets the circuit. I think this occurred because I let my five year old trim the drives and didn't let up when outdrive was at max height. I think they changed the trim module at some point; we have the 5.0gxi-j. I dug around the back of engine and didn't find any kind of reset switch. I checked out the wiring diagram for our specific boat and also didn't see reference to a reset. Called the mechanic and he said it's a poor design; he sees these frequently and carries the pump replacement kit in stock. |
