Hey guys I have a 215 Horizon and I was wondering if I can convert the cable throttle to a fly by wire one instead ????? |

I think a simple cable is superior. In boats simple beats complex new tech every time. |

It depends on which model engine you have. Some are not compatible or take quite a bit of modifications to make it work. I wanted the addition of fly by wire for a remote control while docking. When the mechanic told me prices for the equipment even if my engines were compatible I was floored. The remote control box, wireless mind you, started at $10k. Yes $10K for pretty much left, right, forward, reverse, throttle functions. Then I needed to update my engines to make them remote compatible but after he told me the price of the remote box I stopped dead in my tracks. |

That's just silly, you could do a bow thruster for less than that! |

It's not easy to single hand on a flybridge, I can't get to the dock lines very quickly, so the remote in all directions would have been very nice but not that nice. Sorry to derail the thread. Were you able to find info on fly by wire for your engine combination? You didn't state your combo. |
